Planning Toolkit 10 New Features

Here is what’s new in Planning Toolkit 10:

Retirement Module

  • Save scenarios. Easily create multiple, what-if planning scenarios.
  • TFSAs and LIFs can now be entered as separate registered investment pools.
  • New option to force an annual income withdrawal from Non-Registered assets and TFSA assets.
  • Retirement accumulation and distribution is separated into Non-Registered Assets, RRSP/RRIF assets, TFSA assets and LIF assets.
  • New Retirement Income table showing each income source: CPP/OAS, Pensions, Non-Registered, TFSA, RRIF, LIF, Other.
  • New layout for Supporting Tables in Preview popup – easier to select and preview a table.

Cash Flow Module

  • CPP and EI deductions are now calculated using amounts entered in Employment and Self-Employment income.
  • A Non-taxable income field has been added.
  • You can select a province in the module now. Previously, you had to select the province in the Personal Data module.

Main Menu Screen

  • Improved module selection. Selected modules are now highlighted in blue. Clicking on a module name takes you there directly.

Personal Data Module

  • Include Spouse option has been added to this module. Previously, you had to choose this option on the Main Menu screen.
  • Update button has been added to update the dates of birth for the Client and Spouse.

Retirement Module – Save Scenarios
Easily create and save multiple what-if scenarios to showing different planning options.

  1. The name of the current scenario is shown here (Retire Earlier)
  2.  Click the Scenarios tab to manage your scenarios

1. Scenarios Window
Click Copy to create a new scenario.
Click Edit to change the name of the scenario.
Click Default to make the scenario the default.
Click Open to activate and use the scenario.
Click Delete to remove a scenario.


Retirement Module – TFSAs and LIFs
TFSAs and LIFs can now be entered separately providing 4 separate pools for retirement asset accumulation and distribution.
1. Non-Registered Assets
2. RRSP/RRIF assets
3. TFSA assets NEW
4. LIF assetsNEW

TFSAs
1. Click the Details button to enter TFSA contributions and withdrawals.
2. You can enter an Annual Withdrawal amount during retirement in this section.

LIFs
1. Click the Details button to set your LIF assumptions.

Retirement Module – Retirement Income Table
1. A new Retirement Income table has been added showing each income source: CPP/OAS, Pensions, Non-Registered, TFSA, RRIF, LIF, Other.


Retirement Module – Supporting Tables
1. A new layout has been added for Supporting Tables in the Preview popup making it much easier to select and preview a table.
