These software updates are for licensed users of Concept and Planning Toolkit.

Concept Toolkit 12 Update October 4, 2018

Concept Toolkit 12 has been updated with the following information

  • New branded infographics
    • Money Facts 2018
    • Money Dates 2018
    • RRIF Minimum Payment Rates
    • Budget 2018
    • Tax Time 2017
  • Marginal tax rates as of January 2018.
  • CPP/OAS maximum benefit amounts as of July 2018 and average amounts as of January 2018.
  • Index performance data (stocks, bonds, cash, inflation) updated as of December 31, 2017.
  • Tuition Fees by Province – updated with 2017 data.
  • Graduates Earn More – updated with 2017 data.
  • Tax Freedom Day – updated with 2017 data.
  • SAGES Overview and SAGES Calculator have been removed since the program ended on December 31, 2017.
  • Correction in LIF calculator for minimum payment calculation.

Download Instructions for the Concept Toolkit Update

  • The full version of Concept Toolkit 12 must already be installed on your computer for this update to work. If the program is not already installed, let us know (support@ativa.com) and we will email you links to download the full version.
  • Concept Toolkit 12 is usually installed in this folder on your computer: C:\Program Files (x86)\Concept Toolkit 12. If it is installed in a different folder or drive, you need to change “C:\Program Files (x86)” to the name of the new directory in the “Destination Directory” field on the “Choose Destination Location” screen when you run the update.

After you complete the download and open the program, it will say “Concept Toolkit 12.8” in the top left corner of the program window.

If you have any problems completing the above download, you may need to temporarily turn off your Anti-Virus program:

  • For example, if your anti-virus program is Norton:
  • On your desktop, in the strip of icons that appear along the bottom of the screen, locate the Norton AntiVirus icon near the system clock. Hovering your mouse over an icon will show what that icon is for.
  • Right-click the Norton icon and a pop-up menu will appear.
  • Click “Disable AntiVirus Auto-Protect.” If prompted, specify the amount of time you want to disable the security program.
  • Complete the download.
  • When you are done the download, repeat the above process and select “Enable AntiVirus Auto-Protect”.

If you use an anti-virus program other than Norton and need help, please email us @ support@ativa.com with the name and version of the program and we will send you instructions.

Planning Toolkit Update April 4, 2018

Planning Toolkit 9 has been updated with the following information:

  • CPP/OAS benefit amounts as of April 2018.
  • Tax rates as of January 2018 in the Cash Flow module.
  • A Preview PDF option has been added for easier access to previously created plans in PDF.
  1. Click Print Plan
  2. Click Preview PDF

Note: A plan must already be created as a PDF before you can Preview it.
